Our granddaughter turns 16 – kind of sappy for an old man – but I always liked the song “Sixteen Candles” by the Crests. It makes me think of times when I was sixteen – soooo long ago. I hope she doesn’t mind me referring to this “Oldie” on her monumental day?
We couldn’t ask for a better person to be our granddaughter. She is caring and compassionate. She is beautiful and oh so talented in many areas – a couple being as a singer and an artist. She is so humble and somewhat embarrassed when her talents are displayed.
She is her own person – damned be anyone who takes exception to it. We were at a mall the other day – it occurred to me that all the young women seemed to be dressed the same way. They even resembled each other in some ways. Our granddaughter makes her own unique fashion statement. She stands out in a crowd for certain and has a definite stage presence when she
performs. We are so proud of her for who she is and what she has accomplished. We hope she never changes and follows her own path for the future. Whatever that path might be – we are certain she will be extremely successful!!!
